What is Definisse?
Definisse is a Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid or HA Filler.
HA retains water and adds volume. At appropriate sites and layers, it fills folds and hollows and adjusts facial dimension.
Definisse offers several gel textures, letting doctors match softness or support to each area rather than use one texture everywhere.
Its 3 main fillers are Touch, Restore, and Core, from soft gels for detailed work to highly supportive gels for contouring.
All use XTR™ — eXcellent Three-dimensional Reticulation, with concentration and gel properties tailored to different uses.
Which Definisse variants are available?
Definisse Touch

The softest and most flexible of the 3, for delicate areas and good movement with the face.
Commonly selected areas include:
- Lips
- Marionette lines
- Shallow folds
- Certain nasolabial folds
- Soft filling
- Detailed refinement without very firm gel
Touch has less Cross-linking than the others, giving more flexibility and softness.
Approximate duration: 8–12 months
Definisse Restore

The middle variant combines flexibility and support for folds and volume, while blending with facial movement.
Commonly used areas include:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Hollow cheeks
- Anterior cheeks
- Forehead in some cases
- Relatively deep folds
- Areas requiring moderate volume enhancement
Restore is firmer than Touch but not as firm as Core, making it versatile.
Approximate duration: 12 months
Definisse Core

The firmest and most supportive of the 3, for contouring needing shape retention and increased Projection.
Commonly selected areas include:
- Chin
- Jawline
- Anterior cheeks
- Midface
- Temples at the appropriate layer
- Areas needing dimension
- Areas needing structural support from filler
Core has HA 25 mg/ml and a higher G' than Touch and Restore, suiting greater shape retention.
Approximate duration: 12–18 months
How do Touch / Restore / Core differ?
To put it simply:
Touch
Softest and most flexible, for detail, lips, and moving areas.
Restore
Medium texture for folds, volume, and both softness and support.
Core
Firmest with greatest shape retention, for chin, jawline, anterior cheeks, and contouring.
Core is not necessarily better than Touch or Restore; choose the texture for the site.
What is XTR™ Technology?
XTR stands for eXcellent Three-dimensional Reticulation.
Definisse's proprietary technology creates a Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid structure forming a stable three-dimensional gel.
There are 3 main steps:
1. Pretreatment Prepare HA molecular chains to the required size.
2. Cross-linking Link HA chains to create a stable gel structure.
3. Purification Remove unbound HA and manufacturing residues.
Gel properties are then adjusted for different softness, flexibility, and support.
How long does Definisse last?
The durations commonly referenced in use are:
Actual duration differs between people and depends on:
- Variant used
- Injection site
- Injection layer
- Number of cc
- Movement in the area
- Individual metabolism
- Previous filler remaining
Moving areas like lips may break down filler faster than deep Core contouring areas.
Does Definisse contain Lidocaine?
Yes.
Current Definisse Touch, Restore, and Core contain 0.3% Lidocaine in the filler to reduce injection pain.
If you have a history of allergy to Lidocaine or anesthetics, inform the doctor before treatment.
How many cc are in 1 box of Definisse?
All 3 contain 1 ml, or approximately 1 cc, per syringe.
Amount depends on the area and individual face; not every site needs a full 1 cc, nor everyone the same amount.
Where can Definisse be used?
Variants can be matched to many areas, such as:
- Lips
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Forehead
- Temples
- Hollow cheeks
- Anterior cheeks
- Chin
- Jawline
- Volume-loss areas
Mobile areas need more flexibility; structure or Projection suits greater support.
Can Definisse be used in the lips?
Yes. Definisse Touch best suits lip treatment among the 3.
Its flexible, not overly firm texture can be used to:
- Adding volume
- Defining the lip border
- Balance upper/lower lips
- Refine Cupid's bow
- Fill perioral folds
Shape depends on original lips and injection technique, not brand alone.
Can Definisse be used for nasolabial folds?
Yes; Restore or Touch is often selected by fold depth and intended layer.
A direct Definisse Restore nasolabial study combined deep nasal-base filling and fold filling to adjust structure together.
Not everyone's nasolabial folds originate only in the fold; lost anterior-cheek or Midface volume may also need filling.
Can Definisse be used in the chin?
Yes. Definisse Core best suits shape retention and Projection.
Core's high support can be used for:
- Chin length
- Increased Projection
- Chin/lip balance
- Refining chin and jawline
The doctor assesses structure and layer before choosing cc.
Can Definisse be used in the anterior cheeks?
Yes.
For Midface volume or dimension, choose Restore or Core by support needed.
Restore may suit soft filling that blends with tissue.
Core better suits Projection or deeper structural support.
Are Definisse results immediate?
Volume and shape changes are visible after filler injection.
Early swelling, needle marks, or tightness mean immediate appearance is not final.
As swelling subsides, the shape gradually blends with tissue.
How long does Definisse take to settle after injection?
Generally, wait approximately 1–2 weeks.
Early swelling, tightness, or palpable filler may occur; reassess after these subside.
Lips may initially swell more than other areas.
Can Definisse be dissolved?
Yes.
Definisse is a Hyaluronic Acid filler, so Hyaluronidase can help dissolve it if necessary.
Before dissolution, the doctor should check location and amount.
Does Definisse cause swelling after injection?
After treatment, there may be:
- Swelling
- Redness
- Needle marks
- Bruising
- Mild tightness or pain
Severity varies by area and person.
For increasing severe pain, pale or abnormally discolored skin, or visual abnormalities, contact the doctor immediately.
How can you identify genuine Definisse?
Before injection, you should be able to inspect the actual product being used.
